Entering the festive sprint this year, the Intercontinental Hotel in Mayfair has received a Nordic Transformation thanks to our amazing team of Christmas Elves, who work tirelessly through the night to transform one of our favourite Mayfair landmarks.

The wintry Nordic style blends Scandinavian themes with the contemporary style of the hotel for a fun festive makeover to delight guests to the hotel. The theme was centred around a Nordic cabin, beautifully crafted by friends and Christmas collaborators at Magna Manufacturing, who also reimagined the outside terrace in the cabin style. Nordic themes with their simple and minimalistic style are perfect for achieving a cosy atmosphere. They blend a winter wonderland with neutral tones and natural materials that are reminiscent of the snowy landscapes of the north. Creating a Nordic theme for Christmas is a chic choice, with neutral tones and the tactile element of wood to create a calm, cosy atmosphere.

The theme was accessorised with cosy elements, with benches, baskets filled with chopped wood, sheepskin rugs, storm lanterns and clusters of Christmas trees festooned with lights. Nordic scenes are created throughout the hotel, including a snug area, the perfect getaway space.
