Seasonal Classes Kick Off at Moyses Stevens Flower School

Yes, the weather has been a little temperamental of late, but that’s not holding us back from enjoying the summer. One way to immerse yourself in the season is to surround yourself with all the flowers it has to offer. Moyses Stevens Flower School has kicked-off its summer programme, recently hosting two captivating workshops perfect for beginners, focusing on the garden-style hand-tied bouquet, and the seasonal vase class. It was a pleasure to welcome such an enthusiastic bunch of students - each with different reasons for coming along, some keen to find a new craft, others coming along with loved ones for a fun day out.
The first workshop focused on the timeless elegance of garden-style hand-tied bouquets. Under the expert guidance of Moyses Stevens' experienced floral designers, attendees were introduced to the fundamental principles of creating a beautifully balanced and natural-looking bouquet. From selecting the finest blooms to mastering the art of arranging them in a hand-tied style, participants learned valuable techniques that help build the main principles of floristry.
It’s always a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, as the tutors share their extensive knowledge, guiding participants through the process - and encouraging each student to interpret floristry techniques in their own way.
Our second group of floral fans joined the school for a seasonal vase tutorial - a versatile arrangement using skills that can be translated into lots of designs. Following a warm introduction from our tutors, and an informative demo, students delved into the gorgeous bounty of blooms including dahlias and pastel-pink achillea. Hands-on experience was at the heart of our workshops and allows each participant to explore their creativity. The class concluded with a stunning display of seasonal vases, each one reflecting the style and newfound skills of the participants.
